  • What better time than a dull winter’s day in February for a Street Party! Always ready to celebrate whatever, whenever,  Leics/Northants members put back the clock to meet at Cogenhoe Village hall for a 1940’s Street Party.

1940’s Street Party What an afternoon!! We really did step back in time. The village hall was decked out with red, white and blue bunting, union jacks and a variety of 1940’s ephemera.
Everyone dressed in 1940’s clothes and really ‘got into the swing of the 40s’ dancing to Glenn Miller music.
At the end of the afternoon, Lorna Drage was presented with a prize for her outfit.
The trestle tables were bowing under the assortment of authentic party food made up of spam, egg and corned beef sandwiches, delicious homemade cakes and jellies. There were even some tins of peaches, which I was assured were donated by local American airmen!!
And, in addition to having a really great time, we raised £295.00 for our local charity, the Air Ambulance.
Thank you to everyone who supported this event and helped to make it such a success.
