Derbys & Notts KFA was delighted when Barbara Green was declared recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award in the Member category at the National AGM in Darlington in October.

Barbara was nominated by her teacher of over 40 years, Frances Dickins, who wrote “She is an absolute treasure to have as a class member; she is a very caring individual and a true ambassador for the KFA, I call her my secret weapon regarding membership – she extols the benefits of being a member of the KFA, and encourages other class members to join”.

Barbara is a regular attendee at local, regional and national events and a committed supporter of KFA nominated charities.   Being very creative and dextrous she makes a variety of gifts to sell – all of which are beautifully crafted and she will not take a penny for the material costs or the many hours she spends making them.

Barbara richly deserves this Award and we were even more pleased when she was also presented with the trophy for overall winner of Volunteer of the Year.
