  • I was a guest at Coventry KFA’s recent 80th Birthday celebrations. There was good entertainment, excellent tea and cakes and filter coffee (yum), and a birthday cake, but it was the people present (over 50 of them) I found the most interesting.
There was a laugh with the fanatical gin drinker who could barely remember Christmas owing to a Gin Advent Calendar; the KFA Teacher who was told she would never walk again following a terrible accident last year, now beginning to walk. The 103 year old guest (Helen Scotson) still with all her faculties, still playing the piano (she played for classes) but she said that “after a one hour session” her shoulders now start to ache! The KFA Teacher (now retired) who had travelled all the way from Bridlington, and the four ladies who share the same birthday and year as Coventry KFA (see photo).

A lovely friendly atmosphere and all proving the benefit of keeping fit, the KFA Way. Furthermore, £212 was raised by the Raffle for the Parkinson’s charity. Well done Coventry KFA.
