What’s on: TASTER FOR FESTIVAL 2018 TEAMS

East Midlands will have two items in next year’s Festival of Movement ‘The Spirit of Dance’.

If you would like to be in one or both of these teams (dependent on numbers) there is a taster day/get together on Sunday, 14th January 2018 to sample some of the work and ideas and hear from the Producer about each item.

Festival of Movement – The Spirit of Dance – East Midland Teams

Producer:               Alison Clarke

Alison will be producing a movement item, which will be a little different to what we have done before.  She is looking for team members who are able to use their body and feet well and are comfortable working closely with each other in a creative way.

Producer:               Lisa Terry

Lisa will be producing an apparatus item using materials.  This will be a dynamic piece, with a strong Tango/Paso Doble feel.  It will involve a lot of spine movement to move the apparatus and an ability to travel across the floor at speed.

First Get Together

Sunday 14th January 2018, 10.00am – 13.00pm at Brockington College Blaby Road,
Enderby, Leicester, LE19 4AQ

Rehearsals

We’ve decided to go with more rehearsals but shorter hours.  2 hours each, with a 1/2 hour handover, so that we can sort money/costumes, eat etc.

Times will be 9.30am – 11.30am and 12pm – 2pm  (order to be agreed later).  The venue will alternate between Nottingham & Leicester

Dates are:

4th & 18th March

8th, 15th & 29th April

13th & 20th May

3rd June – Dress Rehearsal (5.5 hours)

You are able to miss one rehearsal, which should be notified at the outset, but everyone must attend the Dress Rehearsal
